ABOUT
Meet Akemi
Akemi Rhea is a Japanese American writer, storyteller, and former missionary whose words trace the redemptive hand of God through suffering and grace. Once a Playboy Bunny in Dallas, now a mother to fifteen through birth, remarriage, and adoption, her life has been marked by trauma, grief, forgiveness, and Gospel hope. After losing a son to murder she and her family followed the Lord’s call to Cambodia to fulfill her son’s vision.
Her memoir series, Dancer in the Reign: Stories of the Already and Not Yet, reveals the sovereign hand of God through every chapter of her life—from rejection to belonging, from bondage to freedom. Revelation 12:11 was the verse God used to call her to write her story of Jesus. Her aim is to tell the truth and invite others to “come and see” the faithfulness of the Lamb.
Her life motto has become:
God is Sovereign. God is Good. No Matter What.
Her story is the evidence.

Akemi and her husband Bill live life on the edge and are parents to fifteen children and grandparents to twenty and counting.
